Whenever we’ve had an unusually long run of chilly and brisk mornings (yes, I consider a week of cold mornings to be a long run), I love to take the opportunity to snuggle up with a warm cup of coffee and catch up with my session recaps.
Especially when they’re from beautiful mornings spent on the beach with an amazing family whose memories and stories I’m blessed to capture!
Not only was the weather gorgeous for this session, but this family was so fun and easy to work with…no small feat with twin boys! But the boys were such troopers and were so exciting to capture and see their similar mannerisms, but also their differences.
After our session, dad had these wonderfully kind words to say, “Thank-you for your patience with the boys (and us) during the photo shoot. The pictures are beautiful, and I think you captured the essence of our family.”
Words like that are precisely why I love my work as much as I do.
So often families let the years pass without taking time to capture the milestones or chapters of their story, and while the essence of your family is naturally-occurring, it does change as your children, and you, get older, and as new little ones are added to your family.
I’m so thankful this couple invited me to capture that essence during this chapter of their family’s story, but also theirs as a couple (you can see their love leap off the screen in those pics I captured without the kiddos!).
Mom had a few words she wanted to share as well, so I’ll wrap up this recap with this sweet note…
Patrick, as the rock of our family, I’m so thankful our boys have you to look up to and guide them as they grow, but beyond hanging the moon and stars for them, I hope you know you do that for me, too. When I see the picture of the way you make me laugh, it feels like falling in love all over again.
