The minute I laid my eyes on sweet Ursula, I was giddy to venture down to the beach. (Doesn’t she look like a little mermaid with her serene face?!)
I had this vision of her in my natural woven basket with a chunky knit looking like she gently washed ashore with the waves and let me tell you, Jacksonville Beach delivered. The lighting was soft, yet bright. The waves were calm in the distance, and the sand reflected the light perfectly as if to put a spotlight on Ursula saying, “Here she is!”
In addition to the wonderful weather and setting, we also had a great time behind the scenes as grandma came along for this part of the session.
(New mamas: enlisting the help of grandma for support through the session is a great idea if dad can’t make it, but even if he can, they tend to be a tremendous source of calm and are always a welcome set of extra hands. Plus, they’ll love getting to make this memory with you.)
Then, we also snuck in some studio shots during our session and, of course, kept the theme of natural elements flowing with a mossy bed of flowers and soft fabrics with light and bright hues.
Ursula’s mom and dad ordered a gorgeous heirloom album that they’ll have for generations to come and it turned out beautifully! Here’s a peek at some of my favorite shots that made it into the album…
